Winter in the Salmon Arm, British Columbia is a beautiful sight. The fresh fallen snow, the crisp winter air. There aren’t many places that beat Salmon Arm when it comes to beautiful winter sights. Nestled on the shores of the Shuswap lake, Salmon Arm boasts many amazing winter activities to participate in. While Salmon Arm is known for it’s summer tourism, it is also an amazing place to visit in those colder months.

Salmon Arm Farmers’ Market & Craft Market

Running from October- April the Farmer’s Market and Craft Market is a fantastic place to be. The Winter Farmer’s market takes place every Saturday from 10am-4pm and is located indoors at 2090 10th Ave SW in Salmon Arm.  The vendors come with many different products ranging from Crafts all the way to baked good and furniture.

Winter Solstice Bonfire Night

On Thursday December 21st in Salmon Arm, visit the Winter Solstice Bonfire night. There will be refreshments and live entertainment as well as crafts and a visit from Santa himself! There is also an option to do some late-night shopping at select businesses downtown. You are not going to want to miss this.

Over the winter months Salmon Arm downtown offers so many different activities that you can participate in. From Pancake breakfasts to some random acts of “elf” you will want to be there to participate.


No matter if you are riding with your family or just going to pump up some adrenaline, the Shuswap boasts 7 different areas to snowmobile with deep powder bowls, open meadows and some serious climbs. If you love Snowmobiling, Salmon Arm is the place to be!

Cross Country Skiing

With moderate winter temperatures and a beautiful powder, Salmon Arm is an ideal winter destination for cross-country skiing. Conditions are reliable from November all the way through to March.
