Everyone loves a good beach getaway every now and then and just because you have kids now doesn’t mean that you still can’t have one. If you want to plan a getaway to the beach that everyone in the family will equally love, here are some of our top tips!
Bring The Right Grub
Don’t wait for the kids (or yourself) to get hungry and cranky. Pack lots of snacks and food that you know they’ll love. Prepare a picnic so that you can dig into something substantial and make sure to bring something refreshing like fresh fruit and juice boxes.
Have The Clothes You Need
Wet and sandy bathing suits can be uncomfortable for the little ones so make sure that they have something dry and comfy to change into. Bring two sets of clothes in case they end up in the sand or water again by accident.
Pack The Entertainment
Maybe you can lounge on the beach all day with ease but children may get a little bored. Bring a bag of sand toys like shovels and buckets or a ball for them to kick around. You could also bring some magazines, books or a portable DVD player if they feel like having a more chilled out afternoon.
Have Something to Get Comfy
Give the kids some options to be comfortable while at the beach. Get them their own little beach chairs, rent a big sun umbrella so that they don’t get too hot and have a big, soft towel for them to lay on in the sand.
Put on ample sun block, keep a large umbrella over your set up and throw a hat on them to keep them out of the sun. Also make sure to keep the kids wearing a life vest, inflatable arm bands and ocean shoes to prevent drowning or sea shell scratches.
Have a Responsible Drink
It’s your beach getaway too so 1 to 3, low alcohol wine coolers couldn’t hurt to pack along.
Plan For Some Help
If you’re planning on heading to a resort, make sure to do your research to see if any of them have babysitters or a kids club. Many places will offer this service so that you can enjoy your holiday while the kids stay safe and are having fun too.
