Vacationing in Vancouver BC Canada is an experience of a lifetime! The city has many activities for families, so you will have plenty of action packed days.
The Science World at TELUS World of Science will be a hit with all of the family scientists. There are plenty of hands on activities, exhibits and demonstrations, and the whole family will be entertained here for hours. They even have an OMNIMAX big screen movie theater. The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is another area you will want to check out. Everyone will enjoy being able to touch moon rocks and see a planetarium show. Plus, they even give you an option of morphing into an alien! Who can resist that??!!
If you have an adventurous and daring family, then you will want to check out the Capilano Suspension Bridge. The rope bridge was built in 1889 and is 450 feet long and 230 feet high. You will walk through rainforest trails and have the opportunity to interact with guides dressed like they are in 1890. After conquering the bridge, head over to the Vancouver Lookout at Harbour Centre. This is one of the tallest buildings in Vancouver and you will see a beautiful view of the city, mountains and harbor.
The Greater Vancouver Zoo is another way to get outside, while seeing multiple types of animals. Watch lion and tiger feedings, meet a reptile, see a falcon fly and take a ride on the Safari Express train. For more animal sightings, head over to the Vancouver Aquarium to see over 50,000 creatures. The beluga whales and the African penguins seem to be the most popular exhibits. Visitors can also participate in the Animal Encounters program and see dolphins, otters, sea lions and sea turtles up close.
If your family loves amusement parks, then you will want to check out Playland. This amusement park features over 35 rides, including a historic wooden roller coaster. One of the newer attractions is the Pacific Adventure Golf. If you want a more relaxing day, then go visit Stanley Park. This 1,000 acre park has beaches, playgrounds and horse and carriage rides. It is the perfect spot to go hiking, roller blading or bike riding.
These are just a few of the things you can do while in Vancouver. There are many more activities available and your week long vacation could easily end up being two weeks, since there is so much to do.
